Jesus, without sin and a perfect human being ?

how could he be, regardless of how god impregnated mary, as she was a sinful human just like the rest of us according to the bible.. mary was subjected to the adamic sin like all other humans, so jesus had to at least be part sinner himself.. to believe otherwise is just deluding oneself imho .. the only way jesus could have been really without sin is if god created him the same way he created adam.. what do you think ?

The whole world counts time by Jesus' existence because he walked out of a tomb. He said that if you listen to him, you can walk out of your tomb as well. This is what it is all about. You have to give special attention to a man who walks out of a tomb.

The above 12 facts made popular by Dr. Habermas, are those that the majority of scholars, atheist and otherwise alike concede to be a minimum set of facts surrounding the resurrection of Jesus.

Until you can come up with plausible explanations for all these minimum facts, you simply are not dealing with what is driving the Christian faith.

So, here's your chance: What is a plausible scenario that would cause tens of thousands of hard-core orthodox Jews to stop making Saturday their day of rest and worship and change it to Sunday... right in their holy city of Jerusalem? And, be willing to suffer shunning and their own death to do so?

Officials at the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses did not have an immediate comment Wednesday. A policy posted on its website says it abhors child abuse and views it as a crime.

"The elders do not shield any perpetrator of child abuse from the authorities," the policy says.

That's a lie. The WT admits that they have secret files of thousands of cases of child abuse perps. The last expose on VICE TV made that clear.

The Supreme Court should deny their status as a religion and declare them an enemy of the state until they turn the records over to the authorities. I think that is the correct solution that preserves freedom of religion as well as the rule of law.

i know there's a name for this technique but i need a name, nonetheless.. if i say to my audience: apostates are horrible, satanic, dirty, sinners, mentally diseased etc ... all hateful traits.

and then i say: person a is an apostate.

then my audience will associate all the traits previously associated with "apostate" with person a. but i can say: i never said person a was horrible, satanic, dirty, mentally diseased etc.

WT Using Symbolic Interpretation to Twist Scriptures

does anyone know of examples where the watchtower used symbolic interpretation to twist the plain meaning of scripture?the only one that comes to my mind right now is in rev.

"then i heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of israel".. .

here, the wt would have us believe that the number of those sealed are literally 144k; but supposedly "israel" symbolically represents anointed jw's.

So, to re-phrase the excellent examples of JeffT and Smiddy:

Proverbs 4:18

"The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,

shining ever brighter till the full light of day.

19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;

they do not know what makes them stumble."

The Watchtower teaches that this means that old incorrect teachings can be changed because "the light keeps getting brighter." They try to say that “light” means Watchtower teachings and this supposedly explains why their teachings are constantly changing – getting brighter.

Also:

The Watchtower claims that the 7 trumpets in Revelation are actually seven WT conventions, starting in 1922 at Cedar Point Ohio and ending with the blast of the seventh angel which was reflected in highlights of the Bible Students’ convention in Detroit, Michigan, July 30-August 6, 1928. At that time 107 broadcasting stations were tied in to what The New York Times described as ‘the most extensive and expensive radio hook-up in history.

The point is that once you accept the WT as God's "sole channel of communication on earth", you can make the bible say anything you want through the device known as symbolic interpretation. They stole the place of Jesus:

Hebrews Chapter 1:

"God, who at various times and in diverse manners spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things"

Jesus (the Word) is the sole channel of communication during the Christian era, NOT PROPHETS! And certainly not the WTBTS of New York.

The only one that comes to my mind right now is in Rev. 7:4

"Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel".

Here, the WT would have us believe that the number of those sealed are literally 144K; but supposedly "Israel" symbolically represents anointed JW's. So, the WT changes from literal reading to symbolic reading within the same verse!

Can anyone think of any other examples?

Only in the WT organization would someone feel compelled to leave home just because they wanted to change what church they go to. The elders would do everything in their power (which is considerable) to undermine that man's household if he ever speaks truth about the WT.

Who wants to live in a house where your family is conditioned to view you "the enemy" .... someone who is against God just because you point out the many WT errors?

The WT is the greatest threat against the institution of family ever devised.

my mom studied with me in the paradise book before i went to kindergarten.

i remember the book vividly.

it creeped me out as a kid.

Thanks Nathan.... the reprint on Amazon looks interesting. My mom was born in '33 and was baptized in 1940. I wonder if this would have been the Children's book she would have studied at that time?
